QE team A came first and Team B came third in the competition out of 6 teams. Both teams progressed to the regional qualifiers in the spring.
Ed Nolan, one of the teachers who helps students run the club, said ‘We are so proud of all our students who played in the competition this evening, not only did they play some good chess, but it was lovely to see them supporting pupils in the other teams. It’s great that both teams made it through to the regionals.’
